Festive tips for people travelling through Guernsey Airport this Christmas
26th November 2025Heading off-island this Christmas?
The airport’s likely to be busy, so here’s how to keep your journey stress-free.
Be ready to go through security
Remember the 100ml liquid rule! Gift sets with containers over 100ml will need to go in the hold, so keep that mind when packing your luggage.
The same advice applies to wrapped presents. For safety reasons, security might need to unwrap any gifts you’re carrying in your hand luggage, so it’s best to leave them unwrapped or stow them safely away in your hold luggage.
Party poppers, sparklers, and toy guns (even ones that look fake) are not allowed in any luggage - hand or hold.
Plan ahead and pack smart!
Beat the queues with Twilight Check-In
Twilight Check-in is here to make your festive travel smoother!
If you are travelling on Aurigny's early morning flights from Guernsey to the UK, skip the morning rush by dropping off your hold bags the afternoon or evening before your departure. Available 15:00 – 20:00 the day before your flight.
Check in online before you arrive
If you are travelling with hand luggage only, you can use online check-in to help speed up the process. Aurigny’s bag drop kiosks can also help you to beat the queues at busy times.
Need a helping hand?
Our friendly assistance providers, ABM, are here to assist you when you arrive, including helping you to the check-in desks if needed.
From check-in to boarding, please book any support through your airline, and the team will be here waiting for you when you arrive.
Please remember to confirm your assistance needs at least 48 hours before your flight.

Passenger Collections
Planning to pick up passengers from Guernsey Airport over Christmas?
Once an aircraft has landed, it can take some time for passengers to disembark, and transit through the arrivals hall. So we’d recommend you wait until you know the flight has landed before you leave home, or alternatively make use of our 30 minutes free car parking while you’re waiting.
Up-to-date information on flight arrival and departure times is available online at www.airport.gg and websites such as www.Flightradar24.com or www.flightaware.com.
Help to keep the forecourt clear for quick pick-ups by only accessing once your passenger is ready to be collected.
Travel disruption
Don’t forget to plan ahead before you fly, and avoid any nasty surprises. Check online for the latest traffic and rail info at your destination, as any disruption or delays may impact your onward travel plans.
And before you journey here, check for any road closures in and around Guernsey Airport – you may need to allow extra time for your journey, just to be on the safe side.
Stay refreshed with on-site food and drink
Feeling peckish at the airport?
The Landside Café upstairs in the terminal is open daily from 08:30 to 17:00, serving hot drinks and delicious food.
Whether you’re checking in, picking up passengers, or watching the airfield while you wait, swing by for a takeaway or pre-order to make your visit even better!
