Guernsey Airport to extend summer 2027 operating hours
7th October 2026
Guernsey Airport and Aurigny have worked together to introduce changes that will improve operational efficiency and provide greater choice for travellers next summer.
As part of those changes, Guernsey Airport will extend its operating hours from 21:00 until 22:30 local time on four days each week between 28 March and 30 October 2027. The start of airport operations at 06:30 remains unchanged.
This will enable later evening arrivals from several regional airports while also providing greater resilience when disruption occurs.
Richard Thomasson, Airport Director, Guernsey Ports, said:
"Maintaining reliable air connectivity is essential for our island community, economy and visitors. These planned operating hour extensions will help ensure Guernsey Airport continues to provide the resilience and flexibility needed to support scheduled services.
“Guernsey Airport already frequently remains open beyond its published operating hours to accommodate flight delays and recover from disruption, particularly during periods of adverse weather.
"Formalising extended operating hours on four days each week during the summer season will provide greater certainty for passengers by giving Aurigny more flexibility when delays occur and supporting a more efficient operation overall.
"This should give passengers greater confidence that flights can recover from disruption and support the reliable air links that islanders depend on.
"Working closely with Aurigny, we have developed a practical solution that supports the island's connectivity needs while recognising the impact on colleagues. We remain committed to continuing our engagement with our employees and trade unions as these plans are finalised."
