Record August 2015 for Aurigny22nd September 2015
Aurigny carried a record number of passengers in August this year, with an end of the month total of 65,079. This beats the previous record of 63,755 passengers flown by the airline in August 2014.
Malcolm Coupar, Aurigny’s commercial director says: “August is always our busiest month and this year was no exception. Record passenger carryings prove we are providing the right mix of fare levels, destinations and flight frequencies. Ticket sales in August for future flights were also impressive, while September looks set to become another strong month. Last year, 557,000 people flew with Aurigny and we’re on track to beat that number in 2015.”
Aurigny flies to eleven separate destinations in the UK, Channel Islands and Europe. It operates a fleet comprising one Embraer 195 jet, two ATR 72-500s, one ATR 72-200, one ATR 42-500, two Dornier 228s and three Britten-Norman Trislanders. The company employs over 300 people, mainly in Guernsey, but with a significant base in Alderney and an operation in Southampton. In March 2018, the airline will celebrate 50 years in business.
