Guernsey Ports gears up for bank holiday take-off
23rd May 2025Guernsey Ports is preparing for a surge in passenger numbers this Bank Holiday weekend, with around 15,000 people expected to travel through the island’s airport and harbour.
Ferry travel is showing a significant year-on-year increase, with passenger numbers up 14% compared to the same weekend in 2024. Brittany Ferries will handle 6,828 inbound and outbound travellers over the weekend, compared to the 6,024 that travelled with Condor Ferries over the same period last year. A further 178 passengers are booked to travel from Granville with Manche Iles.
A new inter-island service will set sail next weekend, with Islands Unlimited launching its Guernsey to Jersey sailings on Friday 30th May.
Airport figures are also on the rise, with strong demand across both regional and international routes. Around 8,200 passengers are expected to pass through Guernsey Airport between Friday and bank holiday Monday inclusive.
Aurigny’s passenger figures show 3,184 scheduled departures and 4,007 arrivals, indicating positive inbound tourism.
Aurigny and Blue Islands are now operating their full summer schedule which will include direct routes to Porto, Nice, Alicante and Bastia for periods throughout the summer. Loganair is making a return to Guernsey this weekend for the first time since 2019.
The inaugural Guernsey-Edinburgh on Saturday 24th May will be greeted upon arrival at Guernsey Airport with a traditional water cannon salute.
Meanwhile, Fly Direct Holidays is operating a direct route to Palma, Majorca with BA CityFlyer, with routes to Faro and Malaga to follow later in the Summer and into the Autumn season.
