We're proud to announce the launch of our new website. With a completely revamped design, content and functionality the island's airport now has a website that is worthy of it's position as a critical resource to Guernsey.

The latest Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) or aerial drone devices have very advanced capabilities and are constantly being updated with new features and technology.

When operated safely and correctly, and with the right permissions, they can be a useful aid for filmmakers and photographers who want to capture unique and compelling images and footage of the Bailiwick. Model aeroplanes and helicopters also fall under this scope.

UAS device use requires an understanding of the safety and operational limitations that are appropriate for the Bailiwick.

Similarly, operational restrictions (in law or otherwise) apply in the vicinity of Guernsey and Alderney Airports, Guernsey Harbours and the Guernsey Vessel Traffic Service Zone. These being intended to protect ‘normal’ air and maritime traffic. Other parts of Guernsey, and the island of Sark have laws or policies in place governing all types of UAS device activity.

Air Berlin starts its summer season

Guernsey Airport was delighted to welcome the first of the chartered Air Berlin planes on Saturday 25th April.  Heralding the start of the summer tourism season, the Bombardier DHC-8-400 was welcomed with a water splash from the Guernsey Airport Fire Service.  The Air Berlin service will operate each Saturday from Stuttgart and Dusseldorf until the end of October.

ALDERNEY - FUEL IS BACK

Alderney Airport is pleased to inform old and new customers that following an interruption of several months, Alderney Electricity are once again able to provide AVGAS at Alderney Airport. For May, June and July the airport is running a promotion for anyone who uptakes fuel from £10 - £20 per plane, depending on weight, for landing and departure. Southampton is renowned for its port - the cruise ship capital of Europe, the variety of galleries, museums on offer such as the SeaCity, and theatre.  It also boasts awarding winning parks of over 300 acres and enviable shopping facilities.

Alternatively, fly into Southampton and step on a train from outside the airport direct to London Waterloo, Bournemouth, and the North of England. Visit neighbouring Portsmouth, explore naval history and shop at Gunwharf Quays. Or, hop on a ferry to the Isle of Wight, the favourite family home of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.

Blue Islands and Aurigny operate frequent daily services direct to Southampton. Aurigny also operate direct services from Alderney.
